Amy Winehouse shows off a curly-haired new look as she ditches her matted beehive

Amy Winehouse has become world-famous for her musical talent and her infamous beehive.

But as a fresh-faced Amy opened her door to snappers, she revealed a head of lush, glossy curls, showing for the first time in many years just how the singer looks without her trademark matted beehive.

Amy unveiled the glossy, curly locks, as she came to the door of her north London home.
But later a coy Amy stuck on her headscarf as she stepped out with friend 'good Blake'. Amy was seen leaving her north London home with the American photographer Blake Wood.

She then met up with a few friends to go for a drink in a local pub.

Looking more filled out than before, and showing off a pretty rounded stomach, Amy came to her door to in a string vest, under which she wore a nude coloured bra, and bizarrely offered the waiting snappers slices of cheese on toast.

But aside from her healthier-looking appearance, it was her glossy curls which caught the eye, as she looked even more like her mother Janice with her new mumsy look.

She happily posed for pictures and showed photographers her hospital tags when she opened the door of her north London home to ask a photographer to use their mobile.

She then went back into her home with the phone and returned a short while after with the phone in hand and slices of cheese on toast for the photographers.

Amy then chatted to photographers updating photographers on her recent movements revealing she was getting medical treatment for the rash which could be seen on her stomach.

Later on Amy went to a pub in Kentish Town, where she met a few friends including DJ and TV presenter Nick Grimshaw.

The singer's appearance in public comes the day after husband Blake Fielder-Civil denied claims he has been dumped by the singer.

Blake, 26, boasted that the pair are still very much in love and that he is expecting a visit from Amy 'at any time now.'

He declared: 'We will be together for the rest of our lives.'

But as he made his comments, Amy's mother Janis has said that she is praying that Blake stays away from her daughter.

Janis, 53, told Closer magazine that Amy was devastated that he didn’t tell her he was getting out of prison before his release into rehab last Wednesday.

She said: 'What sort of husband doesn’t tell his wife that he’s being released? That says it all really, doesn’t it?'

Blake has been staying at a rehab clinic in Woking, Surrey, since he was released from prison last Wednesday.

He was locked up for a year for his part in a vicious assault on a pub landlord.

He allegedly asked Amy to pay the £30,000 fee for his treatment, but she refused.

Amy has not yet visited her freed husband, sparking rumours of a rift between the couple.

She is said to be livid that she did not know her husband was leaving Edmunds Hill jail in East Anglia for a seven-week course to cure his heroin and crack cocaine addiction.

Amy Winehouse won't live forever

Amy Winehouse will soon be dead, according to Noel Gallagher.

The Oasis guitarist has a number of songs left over from sessions for the band's new album 'Dig Out Your Soul' which he thinks Amy, 25, would be perfect for, but believes her rampant drug use will kill her soon.

He told NME magazine: "I've got a backlog of 30-odd songs just sitting there. I don't know what the f**k I'm going to do with them all.

"Could I give them to someone else to sing? Well, there's a few that sound like girls could sing them, but who?

"F**king Amy Winehouse? She'll be dead before I write another one."

However, the 41-year-old musician thinks Welsh songstress Duffy would be a good match for some of his music.

He said: "That Duffy's alright. I could imagine her singing a few of the tracks. But I might put them forward for a film, although I don't want them to end up in any romantic comedies."
'Dig Out Your Soul', which includes single 'The Shock of the Lightning', is released on October 6.

Amy Winehouse takes a second shot at DJing

Amy Winehouse is to have a second try-out as a DJ - after she disappointed partygoers at her first London club night by not playing a single record.

The Back to Black singer was due to hit the decks at the launch of her own regular club night at the Monarch pub in Camden, London in June but she baffled the crowd by merely dancing around the DJ booth while a friend controlled the music.

Now Winehouse has announced that she is to host another club night at the venue on Thursday, playing tunes along with DJ Bioux. The night is called 'Snakehips' and is billed as a mix of 1960s girl groups, northern soul, beat and doo-wop tunes.

Amy Winehouse Bestival No Show

Bestival organisers have been forced to come up witha back up plan over fears Amy Winehouse will not turn up to perform.

The troubled Back To Black hitmaker scrapped her performance at French music festival Rock En Seine in Paris last week (29Aug08) just hours before she was due to take to the stage.

The star cited illness as the reason she had to miss the event and she could face legal action from the festival's bosses who had to deal with disgruntled fans expecting to see the singer.

And now, organisers of the Bestival festival on Britain's Isle Of White this weekend (05-07Sep08) have admitted they have already arranged another headliner to step in if Winehouse fails to appear at show as scheduled.

Bestival creator DJ Rob da Bank tells fans in his online blog, "Regarding Amy, simply, I do not have any more info. I am in contact with her agent and manager and we'll know what's happening after the weekend.

"If she can't do the gig, rest assured I do have a very good back-up plan. Have we ever let you down?"

The Rehab singer was admitted to a London hospital on 28 July (08) after falling ill at her home.

Her representative subsequently released a statement blaming her condition on an adverse reaction to medication she is taking to help kick her drug addiction - which the star's father Mitch has also backed.

But now The Sun newspaper is claiming Winehouse had in fact become sick after allegedly smoking pot for more than a day.

And pals fear Winehouse's reported addictions will leave her needing medical help for years to come.

A source tells the publication, "Mitch does everything he can to protect his daughter - but his 'explanation' for Amy's hospital dash in July was simply untrue.

"She had smoked an inhuman amount of hash which resulted in acute cannabis poisoning. You have to take a s**tload of pot to suffer that severe a reaction.
"It's thought she had been smoking it for 36 hours... She is in need of years of psychiatry and medical treatment if she has a hope (of fully recovering)."

The troubled singer's mother-in-law has lashed out at the troubled singer's family for allowing her to carry on performing despite being "seriously ill".

Georgette Civil, mum of Winehouse's husband Blake Fielder-Civil, has blamed the star's turbulent life and subsequent drug abuse on her family - insisting they should stop her from working in a bid to focus on getting better.

And Civil, who lashed out at the star last month (Aug08) and called for the police to arrest her after the singer was reportedly filmed snorting cocaine at a London party, has taken aim at the star's father Mitch, as well as record label bosses.

She tells Britain's the Daily Star newspaper, "Amy has serious health and drug dependency problems but she is pushed into work.

"Her health is more important than prancing around the on stage. I blame her father and record company. People around her have a duty to help her before she ends up dead."

Medics also warned the hellraiser will die if she has another drug binge and worried she would break bones during a fit, which a friend said was "like something from 'The Exorcist'" - the infamous horror movie in which then-child actress Linda Blair projectile vomits pea soup after being possessed by a demon.

The star's pal has also revealed how the 24-year-old overdosed on a mixture of crystal meth, cocaine, heroin, ecstasy and ketamine in August 2007.

And Godwyn admits Cynthia was the only person who could control the 24-year-old's behaviour.

He says, "Cynthia was the one person who could make Amy behave and who she would listen to."

And Winehouse's father Mitch has backed up Godwyn's claims.

He adds, "Cynthia was more like a best friend to Amy. She kept her feet on the ground. After she went, there's nobody who she'll listen to. She certainly won't listen to me".

Amy Winehouse was embroiled in a fracas outside a London pub on Thursday (14Aug08) when she allegedly assaulted a photographer and a member of the public.

The Rehab hitmaker made her first public appearance in almost a fortnight when she ventured outside her home to attend a fundraiser at the Dingwalls pub in Camden, north London, to raise cash for her old haunt, The Hawley Arms, which was burnt to the ground back in February (08)
According to members of the paparazzi, after leaving the venue, Winehouse "ran riot" with her god-daughter before one of her bodyguards clashed with the pursuing snappers.

A brawl ensued, with a security man reportedly hitting out at photographers, knocking several to the ground.

And Winehouse got involved when she allegedly threw a pint glass at a paparazzo, before shouting and swearing randomly at people in the street - with one source claiming she slapped a passerby.

It's not the first time the star has lashed out at the public - she was accused of assaulting three fans in less than two weeks at the start of July (08), and even smacked her own bodyguard in the face in one incident

Amy Winehouse has been invited to join a group of singing monks.

The 72-strong Cistercian Monks Of Stift Heiligenkreuz - who recently scored a number one album of Gregorian chants in their native Austria and have made the top 10 in the UK album charts - believe they could help the 'Back To Black' singer overcome her troublesThe monks are signed to the same record label as Amy, 24, and were given a copy of her 'Back To Black' album by a label worker.

Brother Johannes Paul Chavanne, 25, told Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper: "For 10 minutes I liked it. But when I read the lyrics I thought it was sad.

"I would like to invite her here - I feel sympathetic to people like her. She could stay a week or two and discuss the big questions of life - faith might be an answer for her."

Despite singing songs from the 1800s, the monks were keen to dismiss claims they don't keep up with modern living.

They said: "Johannes is a thoroughly modern monk, and has a computer and internet in his cell.
"We are in a tradition that goes back centuries, but we are also of the third millennium, and use the medium of our time."
