Katy Perry apologises for Lily Allen 'fat' jibe as she parades around in a plunging gold catsuit

Katy Perry has called a truce in her simmering feud with fellow pop star Lily Allen.

The I Kissed A Girl singer yesterday apologised to Lily after referring to herself as a 'skinnier version' of the British pop star.

'Yeah, I made a joke about that earlier this year,' Katy, 24, said at the taping of Fuse's The Good, the Bad & the Britney yesterday, which saw her take to the stage in a daring gold sequined catsuit.

'I was just kind of joking and trying to be funny. I didn't mean anything by it. Comedians are not necessarily to be taken super seriously.'

In an interview on Capital FM on Monday, fiery Lily described her meeting with Katy as 'frosty' and also took a swipe at her musical ability.

The 23-year-old said: 'I happen to know for a fact that she was an American version of me.

'She was signed by my label in America as, 'We need to find something controversial and kooky like Lily Allen.'

'And then they found her. I think the lyrics and stuff are a bit crass.

'When I met her I was bit frosty with her because someone asked her to describe herself. She's like, "Aha, I'm like a fatter version of Amy Winehouse and a skinnier version of Lily Allen!". It's like, you're not English and you don't write your own songs, shut up!'

While Lily is clearly not a fan, many others are - last week Katy received her first Grammy award nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for I Kissed A Girl.

Alfie Allen's and Jaime Winstone Engaged

Lily Allen has let slip that her brother Alfie may be about to get engaged to girlfriend Jaime Winstone.

The singer was co-hosting the GQ Men of the Year Awards in London on Tuesday (02Sep08) night when she welcomed Ray Winstone's actress daughter onto the stage, telling the shocked audience, "Introducing my soon-to-be-sister-in-law, Jaime Winstone."

Despite Winstone pleading with the singer to stay quiet, Allen then yelled, "Show off your rock (ring), show off your diamond."

Alfie Allen, 21, has been dating the 23-year-old since last year (07)

Lily Allen's kidnap ordeal

Lily Allen has revealed her friend was kidnapped and kept in a car boot for six days.

The singer was left "terrified" by the ordeal and thanked London's Metropolitan Police for foiling the plot as she co-hosted the GQ Men of the Year awards last night (02.09.08).

Lily, who shared presenting duties with Sir Elton John, said: "My friend Charlie was kidnapped a few weeks ago and was kept in a car boot for six days without any food or anything. It was really scary. Thank you to the Met for getting my friend back, we were all terrified. From what I hear, the police did a fantastic job."

Lily's friend, only identified as Charlie, and another man - both in their 20s - were working in a West London sports store when armed men allegedly walked in and forced them into a car on August 2.

The kidnappers are said to have demanded a £75,000 ransom from the two men's families and held them at a property in Thamesmead, South East London.

Lily added: "He was in a car boot being driven around London before he was found. It was all over money."

Police have arrested six men in connection with the kidnap plot. Four are charged with conspiracy to kidnap, conspiracy to blackmail and false imprisonment. One man has been charged with two offences of kidnap and one offence of robbery. The sixth man has been released on bail pending further inquiries

Lily Allen's drug worry

Lily Allen doesn't know if she will stop taking drugs.

The 'Smile' singer, who attempted to punch a passer-by after leaving a London nightspot in the early hours of Tuesday morning (19.08.08), admits she isn't a "good person" when she is under the influence of illegal substances but still can't bring herself to quit.

She told Paper magazine: "I'm not going to say I'm never going to do drugs again. I just know I'm not a good person on drugs."

However, the 23-year-old star insists she did stop using recreational drugs after she discovered she was expecting a baby with then-boyfriend Ed Simons last November.

Lily, who suffered a miscarriage in January, says she vowed to clean up her life for the sake of her unborn child.

She said: "It was the hardest thing for me. When I realised I was pregnant and realised I wanted to have the baby, I made a huge decision - to make my life more stable."

Lily has previously openly discussed her drug use, admitting she first began experimenting with ecstasy when she was just 14.
Lily also claimed she thinks her drink was spiked in June this year when she was pictured being carried out of a party for the Glamour Magazine awards in London.

She said: "I did drink that night. Then I woke up in my bed at 8 am and felt totally fine. So I Googled myself, and I saw the pictures.

"It was awful. I can't believe I got into that state. It leads me to believe somebody put something in my drink or something. Because it's totally not in my repertoire to do something like that.
