Carcass Return To North America.

Carcass Return To North America....

Carcass are to tour North America for the first time in over 15 years.

The British rockers, who reformed in 2007, are to play their first live shows Stateside in September (08), 13 years after they originally splitAnd frontman Jeff Walker admits their return was either now or never - because they feared their records would be resigned to the archives by today's young music fans.

He tells Mtv.com, "If we don't do this now, Carcass will be erased from the history of rock, to a certain extent.

"There's so much access to information out there, (but) it seems to me that the new generation of kids just really don't know s**t. They don't really know who Black Sabbath is, never mind Carcass. There's definitely a generation of kids out there who are not aware of Carcass, because we haven't been around for 15 years. A year is a long time in metal these days."

But Walker warns Carcass fans not to expect too much more after their current reunion runs its course. He reveals the band has no plans to record a new album or hit the road again, because they don't want to disappoint devotees by putting out sub-standard music.

He adds, "Never say never, but I can't see it happening - I can't see it working... It would be sad, I think. These bands that start playing again, some of them get carried away, and they write an album, and they start saying, 'It's the best thing we ever done.' And then it just isn't. We don't want to be one of those bands. We don't want to be doing this next year. I could maybe see us playing again in some of the countries that we're not touching this year, but let's see if we kill each other when we're in North America on a tour bus.Carcass' 15-date trek around North America kicks off in Worcester, Massachusetts on 5 September (08).
